Pokemon Battle Roads Visits Galactic
On the weekend of May 25th & 26th Pokemon Battle Roads came to Galactic in Pooler and Statesboro. Turnout was fantastic with 16 players in Pooler on Saturday and 24 in Statesboro on Sunday. Players as young as 5 participated in various age catagories. Winners for the weekend included Cody, Ricky, Jordan, Hunter, Trevor, & Cory. The Pokemon League in Statesboro meets every Saturday 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Entry is Free!
ORKS Dominate 40K Tournament
The May 17th Warhammer 40K Tournament was a great success with Orks dominating the day. We had 16 players show up to play 3 rounds at 1500 Points. Several outstanding armies were fielded with great paint work and/or very cool conversion work. The day saw some great matchups including 1st round hot ork on ork action as Alex took on Shane, and 3rd round saw old and new adversaries face each other as Merle's Marines took on Barclay's Orks while David was forced to face the wrath of his son, Austin.
The end of the day saw all 3 Ork armies winning prizes.
Barclay & Shane both with very cool looking Ork Armies tied for first.
Wayne, playing Daemons, won the Best Sportsmanship Award. He whinned the least.
Adam won the Judge's Choice Award with a highly converted Daemon army.
David, in his 1st tourney, won the Best Army Award with Space Marines
And Alex won the Better Luck Next Time Award (Dice prize) with the 3rd Ork Army of the day.
Our next 40K Tournament will be held on June 7th. Points for this tourney will be 1750. Entry is $10 and doors open at 10am. Please try to have your army list submitted by the Friday before the tourney.

Free Comic Book Day 2009
This years Free Comic Book Day was by far our most successful ever. We handed out over 1500 free comics to a very diverse crowd of comic fans. Thanks to all who participated in the festivities. Big thanks to all those that helped out with the weekend, including Dr. Strange and the Riddler. Staying open 24 + hours was a challenge for Keith and Alex but they came through it just fine with the help of Rock Band and lots of caffeine.
